While the US Marines are out looking for a few good men, I'm out looking for a few good sponsors.

I'm a firm believer in going to the horse's mouth. It sure beats the other end !

You pick the page and slot to display your message instead of Google, Yahoo, or any of the other major ad campaigns. In other words, you target your message on the page and slot where you think it will do you the most good. Ads displayed by the "Big Boys" called textual ads attempt to display ads based on the content of the page displayed. Notice I said attempt. While in theory this would be great, based on my experience the current automated systems of displaying ads too often display ads not at all related to the page's content. This doesn't help the advertiser, Google, Yahoo, MSN, or the publisher (me).

I'm currently using Yahoo as an additional means of trying to generate some advertising revenue to help offset the cost of running my website. As I fill my slots with my own advertisers, I'll be gradually phasing out all my Yahoo ads.

Type Of Sponsors Accepted
My policy in a nutshell:

  • Quality not quantity.
  • Preferably accounting and bookkeeping, business, education, or finance related sponsors whose site's are not localized. In other words, their service or product is U.S. or global in nature.
    No get skinny, prescription drugs, dating services, gambling, or sexually oriented sites will be accepted.
  • I'm the judge as to what is acceptable and what is not.

Type and Set Up Of Sponsor Messages

  • Only text links are currently accepted. I don't like banners or flashing lights. In my opinion, they just don't look professional.
  • You set up and control your own sponsor messages and slots.

Bean Counter provides more space for your message than most other advertisers do for their standard text ads including the "big boys".

  • All sponsor slots are subject to my approval.
  • Bean Counter reserves the right to reject any Sponsor Listing(s) for any or for no reason.
  • Sponsor slots are paid in advance using PayPal, a credit card, or a mutually agreed upon method.
  • Sponsor slots may be cancelled at any time either by you or Bean Counter.
  • Refunds are provided by Bean Counter for any whole unused period or periods. Portions of a period are not included in the Refund Calculation.
  • Bean Counter reserves the right to remove or change a sponsor slot for any reason.

Available Sponsor Periods Are:

  • Monthly (Minimum Period for a sponsor slot)
  • Quarterly - 3 months
  • Semi-Annual - 6 months
  • Annual - 12 months

  • Currently, the following pages are available for sponsor's ads.
    Why these pages? These are some of my most frequently visited pages. Future plans include adding sponsor slots to other frequently visited pages. If you have a page not listed where you would like to place an ad - let me know. I intend on limiting the number of ad pages, slots, and sponsors. I don't want an "ad farm" just a little help for my operating expenses.

  • Your slot will be rotated from the first spot on a page to the ending spot on a page so that all sponsor messages are treated equally.
  • Sponsor slots will be sold on a first there first get basis. Kind of like the FIFO Inventory Method (First In First Out).
  • All my sponsor rates are based on time and not on the number of clicks, impressions, etc. and on sponsor slot page locations.
  • Bean Counter periodically reviews its rates and periods and may at its discretion change any or all rates and related periods.
What's it going to cost me? An arm and a leg?
