Preparing The Cash Forecast

Cash Forecasts > Forecasting Exercise
Your Turn
Let's See If You're On Target.

In the prior Developing Your Forecast Section, we discussed and hopefully learned about how to organize and analyze the financial information needed in order to prepare a Cash Forecast. Now we're going to put this information and knowledge to use and actual prepare a Cash Forecast using my Cash Projection Workbook.
If you don't have Excel you need to Download a free version of Libre Office or Open Office.
Libre Office  (My Recommendation)

You now need to download the Cash Projection Worksheets for you to use on your computer to complete Ma and Pa'sCash Forecast  Excercise.

The Zip File includes Instructions, Data Needed For the Exercise, Blank Worksheets, and the Filled In Worksheets with the Answers.
Main Folders Included:
  • Instructions
  • Data Input
    • Cash
    • Other Payments
    • Basic Info-1
    • Basic Info-2
    • Sales
    • Expenses
  • CartoonWorkbooks
  • ProfessionalWorkbooks

I've provided two Versions of the Worksheets.
1. What I call the "Cartoon" Version
An Excel Worksheet (.xlsv) and a Libre Office or OpenOffice Worksheet (.ods) are both provided.
The name of the Folder that contains the files is CartoonWorkbooks.
The Subfolder BlankSheets contains the Blank Worksheets
The Subfolder named AnswerSheets contains the Filled In Worksheets

2. What I call the Professional Version
Use this Version when using the Cash Projection Worksheet for Business Presentations.
An Excel Worksheet and a Libre Office or OpenOffice Worksheet are both provided.
The name of the Folder that contains the files ProfessionalWorkbooks.
The Subfolder BlankSheets contains the Blank Worksheets
The Subfolder named AnswerSheets contains the Filled In Worksheets

Both Versions of the Blank Worksheets contain the same Worksheets and Calculations. The only difference is that the Cartoon Blank Version has some added cartoons to provide a little humor.

The Answer Worksheet for the Ma & Pa Exercise only uses the Cartoon Version and also has both an Excel Version (.xlsv) and a Libre or OpenOffice Version (.ods).

When entering the information for the Ma and Pa Exercise you can use either the Blank Cartoon or the Blank Professional Version.

The Folder Named Instructions contains instructions on how to use the Spreadsheets.
The Folder Named DataInput has PDF Files that have the information needed to enter in Ma & Pa's Spreadsheets
